Firstly I have to say a big thank you for my husbands care after he collapsed on holiday and had to have a heart by-pass. The operation was extremely successful and his aftercare was fantastic, All our thanks must go to Dr Bhoyroo, Dr Jugessur and their surgical team for his recovery. I'm afraid that the same cannot be said for the Accounts department and the Administration of the Clinique. I was hounded for money the very first day my husband was admitted. Even though I informed them I was well insured by AXA, it wasn't enough, they wanted me to pay. When they could not get me to sign to pay they took the form up to my husband and harassed him. This they did to an extremely ill man who was waiting for his operation! They would not accept any payment from AXA and I believe an agent had to be used to transfer money for my husbands treatment . I cannot even begin to tell you of the anxiety and stress this caused me. I was in a foreign country trying to cope with my husbands illness and was pestered and harassed every day I went to the hospital. Just before my husband was due to leave (even though I had checked all payments had gone through the day before), he was informed that he couldn't leave the hospital until the final bill was paid. He was followed all the way through the hospital to the main doors where he was told he had to wait until he had seen the accountant to pay! When he refused and just before he left he had a bill of approx £11,000 thrust under his arm. What a way to treat a human being who through no fault of his own was ill. At one time they were telling me that the operation would not go through until we paid up-front. I cannot describe my emotions for both my husband and myself at having to go through all this anxiety. Clinique Darne needs to have a talk to these very rude and obnoxious staff,
